Why I made CoachYard
I have a teenage son who loves baseball. Like a lot of parents, I spent a lot of money on hitting lessons — and honestly, they weren't always good. So I started working with him myself: filming his swing, putting it next to a swing we wanted to learn from, and going through both frame by frame.
What surprised me was how much he got out of it. Not because I'm a great coach — I'm not — but because he started seeing his own swing and making his own adjustments. That's the skill that lasts, long after any lesson.
That's why I built CoachYard: to help young athletes get better without the high cost of personal coaching. The basic tools — filming, comparing swings side by side, stepping frame by frame and drawing on them — will always be free or low cost.
